I have to admit, I’ve been hoping the Tories would do something that I could write about so that this blog doesn’t become one of those “blogging Tory” blogs (again, I’m for less gov’t in my life) where I constantly bag on Michael Ignatieff… regardless of how much he deserves it. I suppose my non-denominational prayers have been answered.

Diane Ablonczy (24 points in Scrabble) gave $400,000 to the Toronto Pride Parade. As in gay pride, not civic pride. The money comes from the Marquee Tourism Events Program which is part of the 2009 budget and is a stimulus initiative designed to boost tourism during the summer vacation period. If you’re unaware, the Toronto Pride Week draws tens of thousands of visitors every year and hundreds of thousands roll out to watch the parade.
