Does GM stand for Gimme Money?

It’s hard not to chock on my bacon-and-egg salad sandwich (seriously, it’s good) when I read about GM workers voting on their cost-cutting contract. How will the auto workers survive through all the sacrifices they will have to make to save their companies and jobs? I like to think of myself as a level-headed person, but it’s one word in a printed news story that set me off on this one; reluctantly. As in, “… many (auto workers) saying they supported the agreement, albeit reluctantly.” (KRISTINE OWRAM, The Canadian Press) Maybe it’s because I’ve spent too much time in being whipped by my capitalist pig overlord in the private sector, but I’d be ecstatic for the chance to choose to save my job. Where I come from, the “cost-cutting contract vote” is usually more like a “closed door one-on-one with my boss where he hands me a brown envelope and wishes me the best.” I wouldn’t “reluctantly” vote to save my job.
