Hi Roger,
I have a website for you to check out – this is very upsetting to me and I am going to do my best, in whatever ways possible, to get the word out there because I am native and I didn’t even know about this until a couple of weeks ago – I don’t know anyone else who is aware of it….thanks.

In response to you message on the Calgary Sun
Roger Kingkade you make a lot of assumptions.
Why are you assuming people did not care about torture five years ago or that the Taliban is torturing people? How did you come to this assumption?
Why do you assume I believe Harper to be the antichrist? I do not think Harper is the antichrist. He is however a politician who has used the prorogue powers of the PM within a 13 month time span twice. This time for extremely cynical and dubious reasons. Any politician who abuses their powers should be opposed and punished. Chretien prorogued for dubious reasons and should received the same outrage, however for some reason the people at that time chose ignore it. It was a mistake by the public.
No, its not sad that the opposition leaders will not force an election. Last fall Canadians expressed their will and said they do not want an election. So be it. Its a waste of money to have an election in recession.
Do I want Harper out? Yes, but not immediately. Like I said its a waste of money to have an election. Whats important is for people to know what Harper has done, he has abused the power of the PM’s office and betrayed peoples trust. He has suffered for it. He has lost the potential majority he could of had. I want Haper out in the next election when it come. He should stay in office and take responsibility for the 56 billion dollar deficit he lead us to. He shoudl answer for the torture debacle.
I want Harper out during the next election, which I assure you is very democratic. People like me will be there to remind the public of his indescresions as a politician in the days to come. Its very democratic and logical indeed. Two hundred people in Calgary and tens of thousands of Canadians nation wide in more then 50 demonstrations will be heard in the coming months.
Any more assumptions you would like to make? Will you make snide comments and baseless assumptions on your radio show too? I would like to hear them

Roger Kincade,
Since I am irked at your tone and method of engaging me in discussion I have some questions I would like you to answer too.
Isn’t it sad when a self described intellectual makes baseless assumptions about someone on a daily newspaper’s online webpage? Isn’t it sad when someone who claims to enjoy discussion can’t ask questions without coming across as snide and condescending? Isn’t sad when the same person who claims to enjoy discussion only has a limited amount of comments in reply to his blog posts? I also wonder if you think its sad that you only seem to have one sponsor for your website.
Dude I may be being an asshole right now, but there are better ways of engaging someone in a discussion other then your baseless assumptions and somewhat rude tone. If you want to respond to me, I ask that you do it through email or through this website since I don;t listen to your radio show.

Hey Alan,
This is what I’ll always struggle to understand about you liberals. Why do you take everything so personally?
My blog has no sponsors. I don’t care. My blog gets a few hundred hits per week and only a few people post comments. I don’t care. (I do enjoy discussion though. You can tell because I have a blog…)
I don’t think you’re being an asshole. I think you’re being remarkably childish and petty. Don’t worry. I observe the same behavior in all my liberal friends who resort to name-calling when they’re stumped. Anyway, when you want to stop feeling hurt and start talking about the issue, let me know. I’ll be here.

Not feeling hurt. In order to be hurt, I have to care about you and what you think. I am feeling sorry for someone who is a self described intellectual who makes baseless assumptions about a stranger online. I read your blogs. Not your best work I would hope. I didn’t call you any names! I simply implied that you are faux intellectual and that people don;t want to talk to you. If you can actually talk about issues without turning them into a ‘liberal’ vs conservative issue it would probably best for you.

Alan,
I don’t know you. I know nothing about you and I have nothing against you. I do, however, know that the Calgary Sun is not your personal website and that none of my remarks in the comment section of that news story were directed at any one individual specifically.
If I were attacking you in that forum, I’d have called you by name.

Hmmm…interesting. Why is the posting where I apologize for being angry and petty not here and yet the postings where I lost my temper and seem like a raving fanatic still here? I was wrong to insult you and I will admit that here and also in the message which has interestingly disappeared.
Yes the Calgary Sun is not my personal website but any alert reader would know that your comments seem to be in reply to the one I wrote before hand.

By request Alan, here is the comment, verbatim, I deleted because I thought it added nothing to the discussion here.
Okay I am being an asshole for leaving another snide angry message. No delete available. REfer to the email message – Alan Tong
As for your comment about an “alert reader.” I’d suggest that an alert reader would know that the comment I posted is about the article, not the comments in the article.
Also, you’re commenting on the “about me” page… which nobody reads anyway.

Thanks for replacing the message. Its okay if no one reads this page. You do and that’s what I am after. IF you think I am trying to embarrass you then you are mistaken.
Very well your comments are about your take on an alert reader are noted. In your comments in the Calgary Sun you refer directly to the number of protesters who attended the rally (you wrote something similar to this – 100-200 whatever in a city of a million) Being one of the few people who disputed the number of people attending the rally and the most recent one to comment about this I think its fair to think that your comments were directed to me and to a lesser extent the article as a whole.

Since the Calgary sun is no longer accepting comments for that article (or maybe I am consistently typing in the wrong verification code) I will respond to your comments here. (please refer back to you own comment in the Calgary Sun)
I don;t know why you are suggesting the opposition Liberals have led the government into deficit. The ruling party the Conservatives are the ones who manage the nations finances.
The recent national polls suggest that the issues you think no one cares about is very important to Canadians. The Conservatives dropped 10-15 points in almost the same amount of days.
I am not sure why you are looking for ’saintliness’ in politics. What I am looking for is a party that can work with other parties. To play ball as it is.
