Fall Election Postponed. Stay Tuned…

TAGS: None

I’m about as disappointed as I can be.  There will be no election this fall.  Well, I’m speculating here, but I’m pretty sure there will be no election this fall.  The only way it was going to happen is if the Liberals challenged the Tories on EI reform.  Today’s numbers from Ipsos-Reid indicate that Harper has an 11 point lead over the Grits. So, if Ignatieff does spring the election… then, um… that would be the dumbest thing a politician in Canada has done since trying to win a federal election without being able to understand English.

My (our, but do you really want an election) only hope now is that the lefty spin machine can concoct one of these character assassination jobs to bring down the house.  They tried it with the communion wafer; failed.  Before that, they tried with gay marriage, women’s right to choose, being Bush Jr., etc.; failed.  Perhaps they can come up with another attempt to demonize the PM and get us out to the polls.  Don’t hold your breath, though.

That’s all for now.  A brief dispatch upon my return from holiday.  Thanks for reading.
